NSEJS
WHAT IS IT?
National Science Examination in Junior Science, more often referred to as NSEJS, is a national level exam conducted by http://www.iapt.org.in for students at the secondary level, mainly 8th, 9th and 10th. Basically, it is the first selection stage examination which finally leads to the International Junior Science Olympiad, in which only 6 students represent India at international level and display their skills by excelling in other countries.
Basically, this is the five-stage process of any NSE to international level:
The International Olympiad (IO) programme follows a five stage process.
Stage one - National Standard Examinations (NSEs) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology,Astronomy, Junior Science organized by IAPT. For more about NSE, go to students brochure. Statewise quota is available here.
All the subsequent stages are conducted by Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE), Mumbai.( www.hbcse.tifr.res.in )
Stage two - is the Indian National Olympiad (INO) examinations. The eligible students from stage one can participate in INO in respective subjects. For eligibility refer to students brochure. Statewise quota is available here.
Stage three - is the Orientation Cum Selection Camps (OCSC). For these camps, about 35 students in each subject will be selected from INO on performance basis
Stage four - These students will have a Pre Departure Training (PDT) for two weeks.
Stage five - Participation in International Olympiad (IO) of the selected students.
WHAT DO I GET IF I EXCEL AT ANY STAGE?
NSEJS is a very esteemed olympiad at national level and holds quite an importance (much more than SOF, UCO and SilverZone Olympiads) when one adds it in CV/Resume. So, it has much importance if you wish to pursue admission in foreign universities and jobs in foreign countries. Now, the big question- what do I get if I clear NSEJS?
